Crossing Triangles

This design is consists of going around a triangle in 2 ways!Let's start with a c-8. We'll be working in the big triangles (there are 4 around the ball.)

The original version of this pattern was done in alternating stripes for a striking effect.

The first image and the second are really the same, but the first demonstrates the pattern a little better. Working in the big triangle, mark the points 1/2 way between the edge of the small triangle and the point of the big triangle. You'll be going from a marked point to the edge of the triangle (along that same line going to the center of the design) but on 2 lines over. Again go two lines over to a marked point. Go back and forth each time moving over 2 lines to get this "basic pattern".Repeat 3-4 times.

In the 2 color diagram, the green is the round we just did. Repeat this basic pattern on the other 3 lines going into the center (use where the lines from before cross as the inner point, and use 1/2 way out as the second point.).Repeat 1-2 times total.

The 3rd phase of the pattern is to do this same design along the original 3 lines. From the inner point : where the 3 lines cross from step 2, to the outer point: between the 2 turn points of step 1. Repeat the same number of times as for step 1 (3-4 times).

To complete the design, I added a simple border -- doing a small square at each 8-line intersection in between the designs. And then marking the lines from the corners of the big triangles, around the small square, down to the opposite corner. (there will be 6 of these lines total).
